More and more news stories tell of the vulnerability of sites like
Facebook, Twitter and Gmail accounts to ID theft and crime. You’re not
safe just because you’re cautious and follow security recommendations
– what about your friends, coworkers and colleagues? Are you
responsible for damages when someone hijacks your Twitter account? Is
your company liable for disclosures of confidential information thanks
to an employee’s unsafe e-mail practices from home? Marisa Fagan and
Elizabeth Wharton will analyze and discuss recent vulnerability and
breach case studies related to Facebook, Twitter, Gmail and LinkedIn -
looking at what happened, prevention methods, and legal implications
of the examples.
